Social and Civil Justice & Legal Aid

Promoting Gender Equality, Legal Aid, and Social Justice

Despite constitutional safeguards, statutory provisions, and numerous government initiatives over the years to support gender equality, substantial changes in social attitudes and institutions have yet to materialize.
In India, the Constitution not only grants equality to women but also empowers the State to adopt affirmative action measures in favor of women to address the cumulative socio-economic, educational, and political disadvantages they face.

However, despite the existence of laws and measures designed to protect women’s rights, we continue to witness a significant increase in crimes against women across all segments of society and geographical regions. These injustices are pervasive, whether in urban centers or rural areas, at school, at work, or within their homes. Women endure various forms of civil and social injustices, including physical and mental abuse, gender discrimination spanning from household to workplace, and the exploitation of economically disadvantaged individuals, leading to a concerning rise in crimes year after year.

By tackling these issues, we actively promote gender equality, reduce inequalities, and contribute to peace, justice, strong institutions, and the empowerment of women, driving societal progress.
